Street Music ( black and white )

Mum and Dad Dancing. Taken again in Collioure this youngster was fascinated to see his parents enjoying a very impromptu dance.
Violin and Evening Shadows Outside a shopping centre in Solihull, Birmingham. Late evening shadows always make a difference.
The Guitar and the Kiss. Piccadilly Circus, London. It would appear that the couple on the right are being serenaded by the guitarist. I wonder are they aware that Piccadillys resident archer, Eros, The God of Love, is pointing his arrow at them.
Back to the Wall. An all too typical dreary day at the Cliffs of Moher in Co. Clare, Ireland. The busker has got his back to the wall which offers some protection from the cold Atlantic wind.On chatting him for a few minutes he offered me a much sunnier disposition than the weather.
Steps an' Stairs. Apart from being a very photogenic bunch of kids I liked the composition where they looked like a set steps,. Climb up one side and down the other. Taken at the Fleadh Cheoil na Eireann in Sligo in 2015.
Paying The Piper.
This image was captured in the beautiful seaside town of Collioure in the south of France near the border with Spain. One of the pleasures of listening to street musicians is giving your kids a few coins and persuading them to step forward to pay.
Fiddler in the Dark Taken a few years ago at the Eddie Duffy Music Festival in Derrygonnelly, a small village near where I live.
Intensity I took this on black and white film at the Eddie Duffy Music Festival in Derrygonnelly Co. Fermanagh. Because I was using film at the time and the light was low it has a grainy effect which I think actually enhances it. But really the intensity of the musicians expression is the main attraction for me.
Snug Music By far the biggest event in traditional irish music is called the Fleadh Cheoil na Eireann and it takes place in a different town somewhere in Ireland in early August. Up to 400,000 music fans and 10,000 musicians come to these small towns over the course of a week. The main business of the fleadh is the holding of lots of competitions. But on the streets and in the pubs informal sessions take place and this is where the real craic is to be found. Incredible music, dancing and storytelling. Well worth a visit if you ever get the opportunity.
Jazz in Collioure (2) This is one of four images that would make a set. Taken in the beautiful french town Collioure on the Med coast near the spanish border. A jazz festival was in full swing and I chose a slow shutter to get an impression of movement in the shots.
